On Saturday 14th January, staff from all branches within The County Group were invited to attend our annual conference at Cranage Hall in Cheshire. The event was well attended, and it was fantastic to see staff from our 22 offices all in one location.
Once everyone had arrived and registered, staff had the opportunity to network with some of our main business partners (who also sponsored the event) such as; Allianz, LV, Compass, TFP, RSA, AXA, NIG, Zurich, Lexicon, Bollington, Ageas, Collingwood, Markerstudy, PLUM, TBH, WMIL and Open GI.
We would like to say a big thank you to each of these business partners for their continued support and attending the conference. All the team at The County Group greatly benefited from your presence.
The conference itself revisited some of the achievements of the previous year – for example, winning the British Insurance Awards Broker of the Year 2016 – and also outlined the key plans for the future.
For the second year in a row, we honoured the “Stars of County”, a recognition of staff who have gone the extra mile to provide 1st class service for our clients. In a toughly fought judging category, this year’s Stars of County were:
Anna Tilley – Assistant Office Manager
Steve Burns – Associate Director
John Murphy – Sales Executive
Stacey Hulse – Management Accountant
Connah Atkinson – Sales Executive
Georgina Pye – Assistant Branch Manager
Trudi Best – Account Executive
Chris Hoesli – Branch Director
Chris Harding – Telemarketer
Karen Barratt – Branch Manager
We then welcomed our guest speaker Andy Grant to tell us about his inspirational story. After receiving a serious leg injury when serving overseas in the Royal Marines, which ultimately resulted in amputation, Andy has since become a top quality athlete representing Great Britain and is world record holder for the fastest 10k for single leg amputees.
After the conclusion of the formal part of the conference, dinner and drinks were served. With 22 branches spread throughout England and Wales, this was an excellent opportunity for teams to spend time with colleagues across the business.
Staff and business partners alike have all given positive feedback about the annual conference and once again, our thanks to everyone that attended to make this a worthwhile event.
