On Saturday 30th July, Laura Jarman (our Shrewsbury Branch Manager) and Amy Downes (our Shrewsbury Sales Executive) went to Shrewsbury Town FC’s annual Open Day. This year, the Open Day was held before and after the friendly game against Burton Albion.
As Shrewsbury Town’s new West Stand sponsors, we were delighted to be invited to have a stall at the event. The whole day was planned by Shrewsbury’s community team and the day was based around meeting the local community and letting them know how we can help them.
Our stall had a lucky dip and sweets for the kids, where all donations went to ‘The Movement Centre’. A charity who provide specialist therapy, called Targeted Training, to help children who have a disability, such as cerebral palsy. Whilst, there was a raffle for the parents – the chance to win a bottle of Prosecco!
Overall, it was a great day with a live band and Lennie the lion mascot entertaining the crowd. As well as a couple of girls training sessions in play for people to watch, the main event was the match against Burton Albion. As club sponsors, we were very happy when Shrewsbury Town won 1-0.
After the game, the players met with the fans and did a signing. Laura’s daughter was very happy to meet the players as she has recently signed to play for Shrewsbury Town FC under 12’s.
We would like to thank Shrewsbury Town FC for having us – we all thoroughly enjoyed the day. We can’t wait for next year!
