County Insurance – review of 2012 (not just insurance!)

Wow, where has the year gone! So it’s nearly goodbye to 2012, and hello to 2013.

County Insurance couldn’t let the year pass without writing a quick review of 2012!

For many, perhaps the highlight of the year was the amazing London 2012 Olympics. Or perhaps the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations? We can’t claim to have caused a similar level of public interest, but below are the County Insurance highlights of the year….

One of our highlights was the milestone of hitting £20 million premium for the first time. This was on the back of our ninth year of successive growth so a big thank you to all of our customers, whether its personal or business insurance.

To aid our growth, we have now moved to a fantastic new office and all customers are welcome to visit anytime to discuss their insurance requirements.

Our Southport branch also secured another 2000 square foot of space, and some new signage too

We were honoured to win the East Cheshire Chamber “Business of the Year 2012” in March, and dedicated this award to all our staff that work so hard for our customers.

You might have seen from our newsletter that Ellie Forster won the Young Achiever of the Year recently as voted by the Stoke Insurance Institute so our congratulations to her.

County Insurance continued their sponsorship of Nantwich Town into the 3rd season in 2012 – expanding the deal so it included both the home and away shirts.

As we write on the 11th December, Nantwich currently sit 6th in the Evo Stik Premier Division . Unfortunately, Nantwich did not do as well this year in the FA Cup, which resulted in our very own Mat Bailey appearing on ITV evening news! The link takes you to our YouTube channel to watch the clip.

Another great achievement for Nantwich Town was winning the Cheshire Senior Cup on May 22nd, beating Macclesfield Town in the final.

If you haven’t seen it yet, we have also done a major revamp on our County Insurance website. Not only do we think it looks nicer 🙂 , it has increased functionality such as a search function both by product (e.g. public liability) or trade (e.g. plumber).

You can see the new version here

New brands

2012 also saw the 1st birthday of a couple of new brands that we launched the year before. Horsebox Insurance has been a really good success so far for County Insurance, particularly as the department is managed by a real horse lover! We also didn’t realise how many horseboxes and trailors are out there!

County also launched Gadget Insurance – a website where you can insure your cameras, phones, ipads, sat navs and ipods!

New Acquisition

County Insurance also acquired Whitchurch Insurance Services on May 1st, a broker who provides both personal & commercial insurance services and employs 5 staff. We are delighted that all the staff have remained, and the first 8 months have gone really well and we are delighted to have welcomed them into the County Group.

Summing up

We could waffle on for longer, but those are the edited highlights of our year!

County Insurance would like to say a warm “thank you” to all of our customers, as we have grown for the seventh year running and we couldn’t do that without our loyal customers both staying with us, and recommending our services to their friends and business acquaintances.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year.

County Insurance branches

Whilst a lot of our business is done either over the phone or via an internet enquiry, there are a number of businesses that still prefer to meet in person (particularly larger ones with more complex insurance requirements).

County Insurance are more than happy to come and visit any current or potential new client on their business premises – indeed for some businesses, a site visit will help scope the business insurance requirements (e.g. manufacturer with premises plus machinery, tools, specialist vehicles etc).

However, our offices are always open if you’d like to come and visit us – please click on this link to find our locations and contact details should you wish to come and have a face-to-face meeting with one of our business insurance consultants.
